Texas Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing education requirements for mental health professionals licensed in Texas.

• LCSW: 30 CE hours every 2 years, including 6 ethics hours — 30 hours per 2-year renewal: 6 ethics, 3 cultural diversity or competency. 22 TAC 781.501.
• LMFT: 30 CE hours every 2 years, including 6 ethics hours — 30 hours per 2-year renewal: 6 ethics, 3 distinct population competency. Telehealth providers add 2 hours technology-assisted services. 22 TAC 801.261.
• LPC: 24 CE hours every 2 years, including 6 ethics hours — 24 hours per 2-year renewal: 6 ethics, 3 cultural diversity or competency. Jurisprudence exam each renewal (may be claimed as 1 ethics hour). Supervisors add 6 supervision hours within the 24. 22 TAC 681.140.
